Challenge
Long-term client commissioned premium karaoke club and multi-format space capable of hosting live bands. Project required complete technical concept development including stage positioning, FOH location, full building soundproofing design, and interior finish material consultation with construction contractor to achieve optimal room acoustics. Scope encompassed complete technical equipment including audio, visual design and video systems – client provided full trust in our recommendations.
Solution
Audio System: Selected MXlab Violina compact line arrays – optimal karaoke choice as multiple small drivers outperform single large driver due to significantly lower mass and superior impulse response. Two powerful MXlab Blast 218 subwoofers provide low-frequency support from 35Hz, plus four mid-bass subwoofers fill critical lower-midrange essential for realistic instrument reproduction. System designed with critical headroom principle – sufficient volume at 70% power capacity prevents distortion and maintains excellent sound quality. Professional FOH position designed following concert venue principles, enabling proper engineering work from acoustically correct location.
Video Systems: Installed BOE TV wall (16 panels) plus additional wall-mounted TV panels (4 units) ensuring video content visibility for every guest. Resolume Arena control integration.
Lighting Design: Developed comprehensive system integrating architectural RGB LED lighting with performance lighting, enabling complete space color scheme transformation through unified control. Maximally ergonomic and automated video/lighting operation allowing single operator to manage complete club technical systems.
Acoustic Engineering: Developed complete soundproofing project with vibration isolation for entire internal space. Provided construction technology consultation in collaboration with Phuket’s leading construction company. Designed acoustic treatment including diffusion and absorption panels integrated as interior design elements. Achieved excellent acoustic parameters and incredible guest comfort comparable to recording studio or commercial cinema environment.
3D Mapping: Partnered with visualization projection specialists for installation becoming venue signature feature. Custom outdoor projector enclosure with AC cooling, Vivetek DU7299Z+ projector, Resolume Arena server.
Results
Currently island’s best karaoke club with excellent guest reviews and high marks from artists and professionals. Venue achieved significant popularity and set industry trend on island with multiple unsuccessful attempts by competitors to approach quality level. Guests experience highest acoustic comfort level and large concert venue feeling in compact space. Carefully engineered lighting system transforms spatial visual design, while massive screen plus additional TV panels ensure video content reaches every guest.
